Connect card readers via the open protocol OSDP
The hardware from Axis Communications supports the connection of card readers via the open standard Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP).
With OSDP, the customer is not restricted to one vendor of card reader, but can choose from many different ones and also use card readers from different vendors in the same installation.
Card readers that support OSDP include HID, Assa Abloy, Idesco, Cidron, STid, and many others.
Real-time door alarm
The system generates an alarm if the door is forced open or left open. What should happen in the event of an alarm is configurable and can, for example, be to send an email, call an external alarm management system, or deliver a connection into a local alarm panel via an IO port.

Locking schedules per door
A locking schedule can be set for each individual door that specifies when it should be day-locked, night-locked, or unlocked. Locking according to schedule can be changed temporarily, for example to unlock a door for a few hours. If the locking schedule is changed, all affected doors are automatically synchronized within a few minutes.
Open button/elbow switch
An open button, elbow switch, or door radar can be connected to the door controller, and immediately grant access on activation.
Integration with door openers
Many door openers require the access system to turn off the lock output even if the door is still open. The system allows this to happen after a configurable number of seconds.

Monitor and react to events
React to system events by sending a notification or executing a command. For example, it can be useful to receive an email if a door goes offline or someone remotely opens a door at night.
